Modern sophisticated military hardware requires hardening from the potential threats of EMP & EMI not only on the battlefield but also away from the theatre of conflict. In the past it has been necessary for defense contractors to retrofit custom-built filters and capacitors to military hardware. MPE’s custom design capability makes us first choice when selecting a partner to develop custom solutions to EMI problems.
Feedthrough Suppression Capacitors
A range of AC/DC feed-through capacitors rated to 100 + amps and voltages from 12VDC to 400 VDC and up to 460VAC. A broad range of capacitance values to meet customer performance requirements and all units are RoHS compliant.
Standard EMC Filter Solutions
MPE has been designing and manufacturing custom EMC filters for military vehicles for over 40 years. This has provided a wealth of experience and understanding of the type of suppression required to provide EMC solutions for a wide variety of applications and enable them to comply with the relevant military EMC specifications. During this time, many hundreds of solutions have been provided, all of which will have been tested and approved for use in their specific end application. Some solutions relate to standard equipment, other designs relate to more specialist items. Based on this accumulated knowledge – MPE are able to offer cost-effective STANDARD EMC FILTER SOLUTIONS for many applications.
HEMP Protection Filters for AC Mains Power Lines
A range of 2 line and 4 line transient suppressed filters suitable for single and three phase mains supplies for use on shielded rooms and general installations. All lines are individually filtered and feature inductive input to offer both good continuous wave EMC performance and superior transient handling performance even on supplies which have low source impedance and which are subjected to high-energy transients. All lines feature high-energy varistor transient suppressors at the input end. MPE also supplies control line and telephone line filters to protect these circuit against EMP and HEMP. The full range of filters is ideally suited to EMP/HEMP protection applications such as those which need to conform to MIL-STD -188-125-1 & -2.
